Modernify is a Spanish company that has strongly entered the elevator modernization and lift equipment sector to bring it into the 21st century: engineering accessible to Small and Medium-sized Maintenance Enterprises (SMEs) in the elevator industry. The elevator market is a sector with an approximate annual volume of 3,000 million euros, where a very small number of multinational companies invoice around 67%. The rest of the market is served by hundreds of SMEs, which are responsible for repairs and maintenance.
SMEs in the sector have limited resources and generally lack the necessary engineering for elevator modernization. The new requirements demanded by European and national regulations, along with the obsolescence of existing elevators, present a complex scenario where offering solutions tailored to each case and each community of property owners in an efficient and simple manner is quite a challenge. Modernify fills the previous gap: it provides the necessary online engineering for SMEs to offer their end customers the renovation of their elevators, independently and with tools similar to those offered by large multinational brands.

Over the next seven years, with the new Complementary Technical Instruction recently approved (ITC AEM 1 RD 355/2024 of April 2), it is estimated that the modernization of 400 thousand elevators will be necessary in Spain. To these regulatory and safety changes, the aging of the existing fleet should be added.
